Tabriz: Today’s carpet production is very extensive, and the quality varies from exquisite craftsmanship to simple and inexpensive basic qualities. A good Tabriz has a short rough pile. The patterns may consist of a central medallion surrounded by arabesques, willows and cypresses. Another popular motif is the four seasons, describing the Persian farmer’s life in spring, summer, autumn and winter.
